An independent studio shaped by autonomy, depth, and a lifelong relationship with making.
Ziran Design exists to bring everything I am into one place. My name is Chris.. A Digital artist, traditional artist, musician, designer, and developer, not as separate roles, but as a single integrated practice.
After 25 years working in commercial web design and development for global brands, I stepped away from agency life to build something slower, truer, and entirely my own.
My early career was rooted in systems, structure, and problem-solving. Working at scale taught me how things function, and where they break.
Parallel to that career, I maintained a private creative life: drawing, painting, experimenting digitally, and composing music. These were not hobbies, they were necessary.
A later-in-life autism diagnosis clarified what had always been present: deep focus, heightened sensitivity, pattern recognition, and an intolerance for inauthentic work. Ziran Design emerged from accepting, rather than suppressing, those traits.
Illustration, digital painting, and composition driven by code and intuition.
Ink, paint, texture, and material, grounded in physical process.
